End of Season Wrap Up

Our last league game is this Sunday! Thank you for a great regular season that saw many close, fun games!

Our playoffs are May 7th from 9am – 5pm at the Prospect Road Community Centre. Please expect to be there for the majority of that time – we will be asking the centre to have their kitchen open for lunch so that people can eat without having to leave the facility (if you would like). This will also be the send off for the teams heading to Barrie to compete in the National Dodgeball Festival!
If you are unable to play on Saturday, please let us know as soon as possible and we will find you a spare! We will do our best to keep the teams even for the playoffs!

After the playoff tournament, we are inviting all league members to Krave Burger on Spring Garden Road for a post-season social. If it is anything like last season’s gathering, it is a great time to relax, grab a bite to eat and socialize with the other NSD players OFF of the court.

Our end of season survey is live!! You can find the survey by following this link: Everyone who fills out the survey is entered into a draw to win a free registration for next season valued at up to $100.00 (the price to play in the coed and men’s/women’s division!

Registration is also open for our upcoming Summer season. We made a change this season and now have coed, men’s and women’s divisions and we will be switching to Tuesday nights once the PRCC switches to their summer hours in July. Space is limited in all three divisions so make sure not to wait too long to register!

And last but certainly not least, this Monday we will be holding a Bake Sale at the Semi-Finals for Monday Night Dodgeball at Armbrae Academy between 7pm – 10pm. Make sure to bring some of your hard earned cash money to exchange for some sweet treats!

Week 10 Update

Nova Scotia Dodgeball Halifac Spencer Smith

10 weeks of dodgeball down with only 2 weeks to go until the end of our first season! There have been a few hiccups along the way but considering we started completely fresh with a completely new style of play for the majority of our players, we think it’s safe to say that it’s been a success so far! Registration for the 2016 Winter season will open tomorrow morning at 10am! We’ll be going with a 12 week season plus an end of season full day playoffs. We do have a slightly different time slot come winter…we’ll be starting at 5pm and ending at 8pm. The season will start on Sunday, January 17th and playoffs take place on Saturday, April 30th. We’ll be sticking to Sundays once again at Prospect Road Community Centre but we’re already in talks with another venue that is more central for most of our players for the spring season. When those details become firm, we will let you all know.

Just a reminder, playoffs will be taking place on Saturday, December 19th at PRCC. If you are unable to make it, please let us know in advance. We will be trying to match the spares that have played so far this season with league players of similar skill level so that it’s as fair as possible. We’re still in the works of organising a social event for after the tourney!

Want to win free registration for next season? Fill our the end of season survey for a chance! All eligible league players and registered spares will have the chance to win and the survey will let us know what we’ve done right so far and what we can do to make the season more fun for everyone involved.

The draw for the free registration will take place on December 24th.

Registration is Full!

We did it! Registration for the first season of Nova Scotia Dodgeball is officially full!

When we first started talking about starting this league, we had hopes of getting enough people to form two teams that wanted to learn this style of dodgeball here in Nova Scotia. We didn’t expect that when we opened registration that not only would we have enough people to have four full teams every single week but that the majority of registration was full within a few days of announcing our new league.

For those of you that missed out on registering or were not able to commit to being a league member, there is always the option of signing up for our official spare list. Just drop us an email and we can put you on the list.

Keep on an eye on this the next day or so we’ll be announcing a couple of drop in events that we’ll be hosting prior to the start of the new season. It’ll be a chance for those of you that have never played the national style of dodgeball to get acquainted with the rules we’ll be using with as well as the smaller 7 inch balls that many of you have never used.

From all of us at NSD, we say thank you! We were honestly overwhelmed about how many people were not only interested but genuinely excited for our new league to start. We cannot wait until September 20th and we hope you can’t either!

Registration is now open!

It’s the day you’ve been waiting for, my little dodgers and dodgettes…registration for the inaugural Nova Scotia Dodgeball Fall 2015 season is open!

We’re doing things a little differently at NSD compared to the other leagues in Nova Scotia. Instead of registering with a team, everyone will register as an individual and teams will be picked each week. No longer will there be one or two teams dominating every week and everyone will get the chance to get to know everyone else! The other big difference with NSD is that we will be focusing on the national style of play rather than the style of dodgeball that is currently played in Nova Scotia. Smaller dodgeballs, more strategy and a slightly different rule set. Our goal is to have Nova Scotia dodgeballers be able to compete at a national level – it’s hard to compete when you aren’t playing the same game!

The season will start on Sunday, September 20th and will run between 6pm – 9pm at Prospect Road Community Centre. Games are 1.5 hours long with a 5 minute break between each half. The cost is $75 per player and that includes 12 league games, a one day tournament and a brand spankin’ new NSD t-shirt with our sweet new logo!

Registration will currently be limited to 36 players although we will have a waiting list if interest is high and gym space may be obtained.
