We’re hosting the National Championship Tournament!

“We are pleased to announce the selected host cities for the 2017 and 2018 National Championship Tournaments!

On December 16th, our league members were asked to submit an application to host the National Championship Tournament & Tryout for 2017, 2018 & 2019. Dodgeball Canada received expressions of interest from 10 league members across the nation, and in the end, made awards to only 2 of them. A selection committee was formulated consisting of 2 board members (Bethel Lascano & Graeme Morrison), 5 league members (Dodgeball Ottawa, Hammercity Dodgeball, Downtown Dodgeball, Dodgeball PEI and Sarnia Adult Dodgeball League) and 1 Class C Member (Alex Svetlovksy). No applications to host were from the respective provinces of each selection committee member. Their purpose was to critically review and provide scores to ultimately decide the successful applications to host. The committee was also asked to critically assess the selection process itself with hopes to improve the process for the next coming years. On December 28th, the committee met and made a decision.

For 2017, the committee decided to award Nova Scotia Dodgeball with the opportunity to host. Their proposed date is for April of 2017 in the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Exact dates and venue will be confirmed soon.

For 2018, the committee decided to award Dodgeball Winnipeg with the opportunity to host in the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

For 2019, the committee decided to defer the selection, suggesting that factors between now and then might result in a significant difference in both the event and the bid process itself.
We are excited to share the responsibility with Nova Scotia Dodgeball and Dodgeball Winnipeg in bringing our nation to Play Together once again as we celebrate dodgeball in Canada!”

The NSD Board is EXTREMELY excited to announce that we have been selected by Dodgeball Canada to host the 2017 national Team Selection Tryout her in Halifax, Nova Scotia!

We know that this will be a very long road to April when we host the best players from across Canada to show their talent, but we are ready for the challenge ahead of us.

We want to thank the selection committee who believed that we could host this event and for allowing us to showcase what Nova Scotia Dodgeball has to offer. We also want to thank every single person who had a hand in helping us with our bid to host: Corey, Steven, Jennifer, Amy, Brogan, George, Spencer, Meghan, Chilli, Lisa, Adam, Jeff, and Joey… THANK YOU!!

NSD believes that this event will not only allow us to showcase this beautiful province to the rest of the dodgeballers across the country; but it will also allow local players, who haven’t had a chance to experience dodgeball at a high skill level, to see what truly competitive dodgeball looks like.

Over the coming weeks we will be looking for sponsors and volunteers in many ways, shapes and forms. Anyone wishing to give us a hand in organizing this event, please message us on Facebook or e-mail us at info@

The new season is upon us!

Nova Scotia Dodgeball Halifax

Alright folks, the time has come! Dodgeball is back in session!

So this season will be a little different to accomodate the different divisions and there may be some learning curves as we figure out how to run them both as efficiently as possible. Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to run the women’s division as there just wasn’t enough interest but we’re keeping registration open in hopes that we can get 4 more women to make it worthwhile for everyone involved. If you happen to know any women who might be interested in playing, send them to the registration page –

Refferees – Right now, both coed teams will be playing at the same time and due to this, there will not be extra players around to ref each game so our plan for the first game is to have players that are sitting off, to rotate and ref a match. We hope that during the season the majority of the players learn to ref so that we have a larger pool of refs to use for tournaments, games and other events. We will be tweaking this as we go and any suggestions you might have, let us know!

End of Season Wrap Up

Our last league game is this Sunday! Thank you for a great regular season that saw many close, fun games!

Our playoffs are May 7th from 9am – 5pm at the Prospect Road Community Centre. Please expect to be there for the majority of that time – we will be asking the centre to have their kitchen open for lunch so that people can eat without having to leave the facility (if you would like). This will also be the send off for the teams heading to Barrie to compete in the National Dodgeball Festival!
If you are unable to play on Saturday, please let us know as soon as possible and we will find you a spare! We will do our best to keep the teams even for the playoffs!

After the playoff tournament, we are inviting all league members to Krave Burger on Spring Garden Road for a post-season social. If it is anything like last season’s gathering, it is a great time to relax, grab a bite to eat and socialize with the other NSD players OFF of the court.

Our end of season survey is live!! You can find the survey by following this link: Everyone who fills out the survey is entered into a draw to win a free registration for next season valued at up to $100.00 (the price to play in the coed and men’s/women’s division!

Registration is also open for our upcoming Summer season. We made a change this season and now have coed, men’s and women’s divisions and we will be switching to Tuesday nights once the PRCC switches to their summer hours in July. Space is limited in all three divisions so make sure not to wait too long to register!

And last but certainly not least, this Monday we will be holding a Bake Sale at the Semi-Finals for Monday Night Dodgeball at Armbrae Academy between 7pm – 10pm. Make sure to bring some of your hard earned cash money to exchange for some sweet treats!
